Honor Flight Austin Sponsor and Son of a Veteran

We can’t thank you enough for another great Honor Flight Austin experience. It is hard for me to put into words the range of emotions I feel on these trips.

For me it brings back so many memories of my childhood, my father, my mother and the numerous other veteran families I grew up surrounded by. It brings back a sense of pride in being an American. A feeling that even in these times of great division in our country, there is still hope, there is still selflessness and good in people. Honor, Integrity, Pride, Dignity and Patriotism are not lost, at least not in the hearts of our Vets and our Soldiers. When I observe the young soldiers, I compare them to civilians I deal with their age. I see hope for the future. I see hope for the future in the eyes of the hundreds of young people cheering our Vets home. Learning what Honor and Patriotism are and what it means to be American. In the tears of the people clapping as these Heros parade by, I see a range of emotions and I feel them myself. Powerful emotions that range from pride to shame.

In the faces of the Veterans, I see relief, I see pride, excitement, joy so many things but most importantly from the time the trip starts to the time it ends ….I see a change, a powerful change. In the Veterans, in the guardians and in everyone they encounter.

Honor Flight is so much more than flying Vets to see memorials, it is a positive impact on everyone it passes.

Thank you to our sponsors!
